Root Beer
"Made with honey from Virginia"
Old Dominion Brewing Co., Ashburn, Virginia
Made by a popular Northern Virginia brewpub, Dominion also bottles its root beers for sale under the Hard Times Cafe label and others.
Review
Very rooty nose. Highly carbonated, which gets in the way of the flavor. Complex taste, begins with a strong rooty taste (which I can't quite pin down), moves through honey (nice) and flattens out into a slightly artificial-tasting afterburn, which is the weak point. There is a lot going on here, an interesting brew. It's score is hurt by the aftertaste and the intrusive carbonation.
