Trader Joe's

Root Beer

Trader Joe's apparently has several different root beers, at least they have three different-looking bottles.  This review is of the big, oddly shaped-bottle brand.  We'll see how it stacks up with the other Trader Joe's brands, their draft and organic varieties.  Who knows, maybe they are all the same brand.

Review

A thinner brew than some.  Medicinal nose.  Small bubbles make it less smooth, the small neck to the bottle makes it sudsier.  Nancy noted that it volatilized at the end of the sip rather than going into a creamy taste, which made it "just pretty average" in her book.  With time, the taste mellowed and sweetened in my glass, and the last sips were more pleasant than the first couple.  There was a slight vanilla aftertaste.  "Cola-like," said Nancy.
