Great Bear Brewing Company
Root Beer
238 N. Boundary Street, Wasilla, Alaska 99654
907-373-4782
Apparently the northern-most brewpub in Alaska...
Review:
This has a cloudy look like dark tea. I was a little put off by it being served over ice, but not too much. Strong herby nose, with a strong birch-wintergreen lead, very forward -- a little heavy on the birchiness, needs a little more sweetness to it. Incredibly smooth, almost melts into your mouth after the initial birch hit. No carbonation to speak of, but I dont miss it here. Wintergreen aftertaste. Caroline says, "it reminds me of old-fashioned root beer candies."
