Eclipse-A-Scope

This sporty Moderne style viewer was manufactured by Tremont Optical Company, 99 Broadway, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

"Bailey's Beads: As the Sun is disappearing completely the Sunlight shining between the mountains of the moon breaks up into sections of brilliant light.

The Shadow Bands: Just prior to the total eclipse, a series of shadows sweep over the surface of the fields. Watch for them and also the stars that appear during totality.

The Corona: After the Sun is blotted out, the beautiful spectacle, the Corona appears. Streamers of pearl colored light extend out across the dark heavens."
This particular viewer was annotated in pencil that it was used at the Eastham (Massachusetts) Town Hall during the eclipse.
