The Eclipse-Gazer

"Not a Temporary Makeshift -- A Permanent and Useful Instrument"

The glasses are stapled to the protective advertising card. All this for only 10 cents.

The reverse of the card contains a map.

"Full appreciation of this Most Unusual Spectacle can only be attained by use of Scientific Skill -- PREPARE by supplying every member of your family with The Eclipse-Gazer."
The 1932 eclipse was a major astronomical event in New England, and spawned more than a dozen different types of viewers as advertizers capitalized on the interest in it. This particular eclipse viewer came in a glassine envelope, which has protected it in near-perfect condition for the past 75 years.
